This slab will be used when there is a need to provide guidance to visually handicapped pedestrians wishing to cross large open, often heavily used, pedestrianised areas to specific points of access. The areas would include shopping malls or precincts, town squares, railway stations or bus stations.

Slabs will be laid so that the ribs are in the direction of travel and should be co-ordinated at corners to give warning of a directional change.
